Law of Attraction for Beginners

Applying the Law of Attraction in Life

Keys to Manifesting Desires

The Law of Attraction is a fundamental principle found within many of the world’s religions. The idea was brought into the mainstream by “The Secret.” But it has been around for much longer than the movie’s existence. Many times abbreviated as LOA, we will look at the basics of using and applying it to life in this short blog post.

If you don’t know the theory of the LOA, the basic concept is simple to understand. If you can see it, feel it, dream it, believe it – then it will occur. It essentially puts the power in an individual’s hands. In many ways, it is linked to karma and the idea that what you give out, you get back. Thus, the more you focus on what you want, the better you feel about yourself and your life, the more good things occur.

There is basically a four-step process involved in consciously and adequately applying the Law of Attraction. If you follow these four steps, you’ll get what you’re attempting to manifest in your life, unless it’s honestly not in your best interest.

Let’s take a look at those four steps.

STEP ONE: DECIDE

It all starts with determining what it is that you want. If you don’t know what you want, how can you expect it to manifest in your life? Not knowing or constantly changing your mind is the first of four mistakes that derail the manifestation process.

STEP TWO: ACTION & FEELING

After deciding what you want, you must take internal and external actions.

Internally, it’s essential to visualize having what it is you desire. It’s also important that it feel good to you each time you engage in that visualization process.

Externally it’s crucial to take the necessary actions needed to work towards having your desire in your life. It’s also vital that you feel good doing those actions as you take them.

BOTH the internal and external parts are typically necessary.

The second biggest mistake people make repeatedly is they visualize what they want but never take real-world action to bring it into being. Worse, they envision what they want but feel bad, depressed, sad, angry, etc., while they visualize. This rarely leads to a successful manifestation.

STEP THREE: FAITH

The third step is you must have faith that the process will work.

I explain to every client and every student that there is a big difference between hope and faith.

When you hope that something happens, you’re, in essence, saying, “it would be nice if that happened, but there’s a chance it might not occur.” I HOPE I find romance. HOPEFULLY, money comes to me. I HOPE this works.

On the other hand, faith is an unwavering knowledge that something is true. You know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it will happen, and nothing is going to convince you otherwise. I have FAITH money will soon be here. I have FAITH it will work. I have FAITH that more love is in my life.

As you can imagine, the third biggest mistake I see people having is they engage in hoping and not fully believing.

It’s not enough to hope. The LOA rests entirely on the practice of faith and the energy you put into it, both internal and external.

STEP FOUR: ACCEPT

The final step can be the hardest for some. That’s accepting and allowing the self to receive. Why is that so hard? Most people subconsciously don’t believe they deserve what they want. Thus, they turn it down when an opportunity comes up that could lead them to acquire it.

Let’s look at an example. Suppose you want to travel more. You visualize traveling. You’ve been researching travel destinations. You have faith it’ll happen and feel good about everything. A friend or co-worker asks you if you’d like to go out for a drink or maybe go to a party. Perhaps it’s a family member that you usually can’t stand. They ask you to do something for them that would be simple, but eh… do you really like them that well?

Now, what if I told you that by doing either of those, it would turn into either a gift that would help you afford your travels OR perhaps even a free trip to accompany them…

Do you see? By refusing, you have delayed the process of getting what you want.

“But I didn’t know! If I would have known….”

Yea, yea – I understand. That’s the Law of Attraction, though. It comes to you typically in the most unusual ways and not always how you want it to. If you’re unwilling to accept – to keep an open mind to this possibility – you’ll be wasting much of your energy with the LOA.

I’ve also seen people bluntly turn down offers even when they did know it would help them get what they want.

In essence, don’t be one of those people. If you’re going to put the work into visualizing, taking action, and having faith, then leave your options open on how you can receive.

CLOSING REMARKS

So you see, the law of attraction will help you focus, stay motivated, and even become a better person, so long as you practice applying the four steps. There’s so much more, but this is an introductory starting guide and gives you someplace to begin.

Remember, this is not about just pretending. There is more to it than “faking it until you make it.” In fact, if you’re “faking it,” then you’re doing it all wrong. The very notion of “faking” something implies that you know it isn’t real. If you can’t believe it, it has almost no hope of manifesting.

So go out and practice now!

I hope everyone is having a Happy New Year. May you find your manifestations occurring swiftly and in your best interest.
