Change Your Life with Meditation

Greetings. I want to take the time to send everyone a personal message about my experience with meditation and how I changed my life with meditation. Hopefully by reading, you too will be willing and able to change your life with meditation.

  • Are you stressed out?
  • Do you worry about your physical health?
  • Are you concerned about your mental health?
  • Do you doubt your spiritual health?
  • Do you wish you had less anxiety and stress in your life?
  • Do you desire more harmony and peace?

Well, I felt all of these things a few years ago and I thought I was going to die. I was working 12-14 hours a day, 5 days a week at a very stressful job. I had no support system, but plenty of people who wanted, and deserved, my attention and time. I had rent to pay, car repairs, college tuition, medical bills, and credit card debt!

I was going non-stop trying to make everybody happy, but I never had enough time to take care of myself and work on my own happiness.

In bed at night, my heart would pound from stress and anxiety. I worried about my job, being single, the bills, my heath, and even my mental state of being.

My health was of particular concern. I felt tired all the time. My blood pressure was sky high with no known cause. I was also gaining weight. My back and head were always hurting. Walking down the street  left me breathless. I felt like I was falling apart in all ways including physically, mentally, and spiritually.

I was really worried about myself but I didn’t know how to take care of myself. I tried many things including:

  • Going to the gym
  • Dieting
  • Exercising at home
  • Even taking various self-help classes.

I had the same results with each of these. They all seemed to help at first, but I wasn’t patient enough to stick with any of them for an extended period of time.

I now realize why they really didn’t work.  They were all short term fixes to a long term problem. I had to change my attitude and life.

I was lucky enough to have a local new age style store. It sold all sorts of new age type objects such as books, tarot cards, astrology things, magick items, etc. I spent a lot of time browsing through their books and their classes. One thing kept appearing over and over again. Meditation.

So I took a class, bought a CD, and started to work on my meditation skills. This, my friends, is what started my life change.

Just by learning to shut out the world around me and tune into myself – I found more clarity and relaxation from that than anything else. Of particular help, however, was the book “The Relaxation Response” by Dr. Herbert Benson.

I read that book over and over again and worked hard to practice what it taught. I also, of course, investigated other meditation books and programs. The feeling that came from meditation was awesome. I changed nothing else, but I was feeling better. I was feeling like I had more energy. I was also feeling less stressed.  I also was better able to focus on my work. My intuition skyrocketed in ways I never expected.

Please hear me out! Meditation did not solve all my problems. It did not make my problems go away. What it did do, however, was give me the focus and center I needed to be able to better deal with the things which were happening in my life. It also started me on my own spiritual journey and soon after I was involving myself in all sorts of new age explorations. Explorations which lead to the development of who I am today.

I still practice meditation regularly. I typically meditate in the morning when I get up and in the evening before bed. If I have strenuous work to do, such as mowing the lawn, I meditate while doing that as well. I am still happy. My life is still constantly changing and improving. Between meditation and the law of attraction – my life has become so much better and I thrive and love to help other people discover what I discovered.

I hope this story inspires some of you to take that first step to start practicing meditation. At least to learn and work with the basics.

You will find that in addition to the basics that there are numerous meditation methods and practices out there. I’m sure you can find something that works for you.
